Thinking it might be either the gauge not working or the float in the fuel tank is screwed.

Try maybe changing the gauge or pulling out the fuel pump from the back and see what the go is there.

pretty sure the dashes are the same. not so sure on the fuel pumps though. I'd imagine they would be the same. Have to get someone else to answer that one for ya!

if u wanna see how much fuel it has go to the boot pulll up the carpet and undo the scews and take off the fuel pump cover its on the left side, then using a scewdriver and hammer gently tap of the cover, thers also a hose clamp u need to take off, once its all off pull the fuel lines off , disconnect the power plug and pull the pump out , check the float too see if it works by plgging it back in and moving it up and down , mite need another person to watch the fuel gauge, and u can check how much fuel u have,

or just take the cover off and clean the plug, i had that problem with mine when i changed the fuel pump, the plug was a bit dirty

Its probably a faulty sender unit or a bad connection, from experience its a bad conection on the multipin plug under the floor mat. High resistance reads full tank but when they go open circuit they trigger some sort of safety thing and then go back to empty.
