Hello!!

I have an EB II GLi auto 240,000k's Dual Fuel, previous owner grannied it and cut and polished it tooo many times (that kinda use ;-) )

So me being 21 and a lil heavy on the go pedal, Im very touchy to all the new noises its been making after the first 3000k's of my ownership.

Theres been other problems, but at the moment:

The fuel pump, it is wherrring noise like its 'working' against something (blocked filter?) it does it while I run on gas too, if the engine nearly stalls the pump noise dies with it, or goes to a lower tone. I can barely hear the engine idle its that loud!

This has only just started since i replaced my ignition leads.
So maybe the engine was running damn rich previously because of s**t spark and now the regulator has closed off abit to achieve the correct mixture (I really dunno!)

Any help appreciated!

Cheers
Ben

If the noise is still apparent when you're car's not running on fuel, then it's probably not the fuel pump....

I doubt the Gas system is so seperate. Im told the there is some circuit that tricks the ecu into thinking it is using petrol but it is using gas so all the auxilaries stay running, eg, fuel pump keeps the regulator giving a bad signal - I could even be pissing in the wind, i really havent a clue

It is certainly coming from the small round cover plate in the boot. I got a screw driver and held it too my ear as a 'stethoscope'.

Cheers
