then you need to workout which side of the relay IS NOT working ... eitha the pwr or the earth side of the coil side

is the pwr relay working properly? - it feeds the pump relay ... so the BRN/GRN to the relay appears to be the earth connection via the ecu?

That confused me even more :( the power relay doesn't appear to be clicking when turning the key on, but I'm lost as to how to test it and figure out what should be working that isn't.

It's so frustrating not knowing what I'm doing.

I swapped the power relay for another one and still no go, so I'm assuming whatever signal is meant to go in to that relay isn't

check connectors above rear drivers side tailights

black box is wiper relay i believe

Checked all connectors there, all seems well, but the fuel pump wiring doesn't go there, it goes underneath the car and disappears into the chassis rail...

connectors go thru rail along top of tank etc

to check relay/wiring use ya multimeter on relay or even a light so when the relay is energised ya know

i can have a squizz at my tank setup tomorrow if ya want? thankfully its still hooked up

Not sure I quite understand - I don't think the relay is energising, hence the reason bridging the wires brought the pump to life... but my electrical knowledge is limited

then the two wires that you didn't hook together need to be checked out .... ones an earth & one should be pwr

go back to the fuel relay with ya multimeter & check for pwr & earth [use continuity check for this earth check. multimeter has a 'buzzer' yeah?] also check relay connections. if no pwr to relay check wiring AND pic i gave you [of wiring]

That was the test I did - one wire going into each relay (the power from fusible links - pins 238 & 175) have power - all other wires seem to be earth...

Is the fuel pump meant to prime with the engine loom unplugged? If not, then I assume there is something different between the wiring looms on the eb and the eb2.

Everything was working perfectly BEFORE I pulled it apart to do the MPFI conversion, so surely it's likely to be something I got wrong when doing the conversion

dunno about fuel pump priming ....... IF everything WAS working perfectly then yeah i would recheck ya added wiring

yes there were changes to EB2 - to incorporate smartlock [what else i don't know sorry]

recheck the wiring pic - i removed the irrelevant one [my bad] ... what part of the wiring did ya change?

I got it to start..... Not running well yet though, but will get there. Turns out if I unplug the TPS the fuel pump will prime and the engine starts :|

Any idea why?

did you recheck all the wiring you added?

That's what I'm looking at now - it's the secondary TPS plug that I added to the loom, not the TPS plug itself, but the one that's meant to control the kickdown for the transmission

I'm now second guessing myself on the other wire too - on the boostedfalcon doc it says

"The first bit of wiring, common to both, is to cut the grey/white wire about an inch away from the idle motor plug. Extend it up to the computer loom part of the main loom plug, cut to length and add the pin on the end. Then put it into the plug so that it corresponds with the grey/white wire on the MPFI loom."

There is no grey/white wire though - there are four wires, and the one I connected may be the wrong one, though what that would have to do with the gearbox TPS plug stopping the pump priming I don't know.

Found the problem! :D

Turns out the green, orange, and black wires on the CFI loom don't correspond to same colours on the MPFI loom I used

Tracked them to the correct locations and hey presto, problem gone away!

Well it runs - I wouldn't say it runs well...

Running like a sack of hammers at the moment, and still not sure if I have the correct wire hooked up from what they were calling the idle motor
