Hi,

I've had my Ford AUII for some time and its done 420,000 on the clock, 220,000klms over since I've drive it.

It's never had a full diagnostic check to see if everything is still ok.

I have ForScan but not familiar with it, came with no instructions.

Since I cant use ForScan, do I need to take the vehicle back to Ford or can another outlet be able to do the same tests but at lower cost.

Thanks.

FORScan needs an ELM327 unit to work with it. You will need a Laptop with Blue-tooth o get the best use of it. If there is nothing specific wrong, why do you need to check it? If the motor is still in good condition and the Auto changes okay, why do you need to do a diagnosis?

It will cost approx $40.00 for an ELM327 (good One) Ebay

And you might try these links to get some more info on using FORScan:

I hope that helps you some?

Hi Pendaws21,

Yes, I do have all those components. The motor has had a hard life, its done a tad over 220,000klm in 3 years since I've had it, Yes, I driven a lot of miles. It seems not idling as good as it should.

The only thing I've used ForScan for is to see if there was any codes. All I keep getting is knock sensor code.

Just want to make sure nothing else is susc.

Cheers

G'day Mad2

They might , never gave it a thought, Probably be easier for me to get reconditioned injectors as I'm not familiar in cleaning them.

Cheers
