Oh dang,

The heater inlet hose has a nasty crack in it and p****d out fluid after training tonight. How much do these things cost, and has anyone got any tips on replacing them?

Cheers

hose is around $10-$15 a pop IIRC, best to inspect/replace the rest of them while you're there, i know when one of my heater hoses blew on the XF, the rest were pretty ordinary

while you're at it, if the heater tap looks rusty, replace it.... they're a common fault

dunno what you guys are on about but my heater hose split last week. Split under the intake right where it hooks upto the pipe coming from thermostat housing.

$4 worth of hose, some hose clamps to replace those stupid clip things and i ended up putting a new heater tap in it.

Best replacing the heater tap anyway, $44 and the replacement from ford is all plastic so NO corrosion! yay !!!!!!!!!!

Yeah basically slice the rubber hose off instead of trying to work it off as moving the hose back and forth to loosen it can weaken the metal pipe which the rubber connects to. And if you break that pipe, then it's dash out to replace the heater core.
