judging by the $250 price tag, and the lack of ability to switch it off, Id say that he bought a physically different Solenoid 5.
In my opinion its two different ways of achieving the same thing... Either way, good s**t, and enjoy. Next thing on the list a manual?

for that price I'd say ACTUAL work to the gearbox was done, like the S5 solenoid, and not just tricking the ECU
You would wanna hope so for $250 anyways... |

yes it was actually work to the gear box - really shifts nice and hard and chirps in 1st and 2nd when planting the foot - absolute dream to drive it really kicks over nicely and pushes the car on!!!
well worth $250 - which also included a transmission service
