ok managed to get everything sorted with the plugs ect. didnt have to pull the intake manifold off like i first thought i would have.
Fired it up this morning only for a few seconds as it was running pretty rough.

My next question is, do i need to reset the ECU?is there anything else im forgetting to do?

Would that be ignition or base timing? Im pretty sure ive installed and set up the distributer correctly.

Would this be best checked with a timing light?

You have to put the car in a special mode and check it with the timing light ,

ok so managed to get it to idle last night but i have found a stray vacuum line...

Can someone tell me where the vacuum line that comes off the side of the log manifold near the air charge temp sensor should connect up too?

there should be a 2 pipe vac tree there??
the large one is for the pcv valve and the small one is for the canister purge solinoid..

I noticed a vac tree but at the very back of the manifold.. and i think they are both connected up.

This vac line is about the same size as the one that runs to the canister purge solinoid

ok, first what manifold are you running? if your running the bbm... the manifold has the plastic tree in the centre next to the ait sensor, this is for pcv and canister purge, there is a steel tree at the rear which is for brake booster, fuel reg and vac for heater controls and bbm solinoid.. and one on the outer side aprox on the middle for the map sensor..

if its the log manifold there is a plastic tree at the rear that is for brake booster, fuel reg, map sensor and heater controls..
there is also a vacuum tree in the middle next to the ait that is for pcv and purge solinoid..

Well its now running and drivable! thank christ because i was sick of the cold on the bike. Im very happy with the improvement it has made both power wise and steering wise.

The vacuum line ended up belonging to map sensor  many thanks to Troyman and others for your advise
