Hi there have just completed the motor to go into my turbo project and someone has warned me about weather or not i fitted the oil restricter near or in the front case near the chain tension or guide. Were exactly is it located and what does it look like. Does it just fall out if case removed? any info would be much appreciated as im getting quite scared now.

Thanks!!!

They usually don't fall out. There is also an O'ring that seals it against the timing cover. Here is a pic of one.

Depends on whether or not you've been moving the motor around with the timing cover off, they don't genarally just fall out though. As you can see in cjh's pic it's under the timing chain cover, just above the water pump
