Hey guys, was rushing to my exit the other day on the freeway at about 120km/h. And at that speed it's like I was stuck, there was this horrible grinding noise from the gears, and I tried to "drive" through it", and I sort of did. Anyway, it holds me back real good, almost like the speed is limited to 120 or some s**t. Any idea?

I have never heard of anything like that. I have been witness to much higher than 120 on the freeway so you are the unluckiest person going round if the factory gave you a 120 km limit.

haha

Lol. But yeah, hard to say. Felt like the trans to me, because it felt like I was fighting it to get past that speed.

fyi, the factory speed limiter, isn't very harsh, no concerning noises.

Something else is amiss.

I'll say this, when shifting up, down, whatever, the transmission is extremely smooth, works a treat.

ANy chance it was in Limp home Mode? Does limit at 3 gear, as in wont go above 3rd, or is it at a speed?

Don't know what that is, feel free to explain. But no, it's definately made it's way to fourth mate (it is as speed).

"Limp home mode" is a safety feature built into the auto for when it gets too hot. It basically locks the tranny in third allowing you to literally "limp home". IIRC, it's signified by the "econ" light on your dash flashing.

Also happens if the speedo signal doesn't make it to the ECU. (ie. a sender, cluster or wiring issue).
