I have a Ford Falcon El and the switch on the remote control is always playing up, and this always makes it a hassel to get the car started. I just want to know if it is possiible to disconnect the immobilizer so that the car can start with the factory remote and not the aftermarket one which came with the immobilizer.

Thanks =]

I don't think the key fob plays a role in the imobilistaion of the car.

The three parts to smartlock imobilisation are the keyed iginition barrel, BCM and computer.

The key fob just allows remote keyless entry!

Try locking and unlocking your car using your key for a few times and see if it makes a difference. I don't think it will tho!

sounds like he has an aftermarket immobiliser.

Start with finding the little the immobiliser box and start tracing back all the aftermarket wires and rejoining the original. Chances are its a very basic setup
