ok
this is for the guys that own ea to ed and have fitted the bbm with the el ecu and want to get there eb trip computer ltrs per 100km to work accurately..
ive been asked by a couple of people if i knew how to get the ea/ed trip computer working acuratly on a eb fitted with the el ecu??

well after reading heaps of different posts on the subject
there was a rumour that you can splice the pwm wire from the trip computer into pin 58 on the ecu..
so i decided to use my car as a guinea pig..
and YES it works and so far has proved to be quite acurate.. :D

you just need to cut the pwm wire from the eb trip computer(which normally joins to pin 34 on the ecu "pwm data output"). and now you join the pwm wire from the trip computer to pin 58 on the ecu(pwm injector pulse)..instead of pin 34....

simple as that!!!

Nifty.
That also means, theoretically, you could keep your trip computer with an aftermarket ECU as well.
Might not work so accurate if you've got 42lb injectors but :P

that seems to be the way to go.
obviously it goes on injector pulse so i would assume the trip comp is calibrated to std injector flow.
but i cant see why it wont work on aftermarket ecu's.

The TC gets to have a look at fuel level & speed also. I'd suspect the trip computers fitted to I6's and V8's are the same - and since their fuel requirements are different, different capacity injectors, etc may not affect the accuracy of calculations - correct me if I'm wrong.
