How did u guys make ur gear stick shorter?
I was thinking of cutting the end off then cutting a section off the stick, then welding the end back on.

Thoughts/opinions ??

The previous owner did this to my XC (toploader). Then one day reversing out of my driveway the weld broke and left me stuck in reverse! :x

If your going to do it I hope your a better welder than the tool that did mine.

i cut mine down, but i cut a new thread on the end of it and screwed the knob back onto it.

Buy a thread cutting die and do it your self, easy as.

I couldn't cut a screw thread cos the Dia of the stick is bigger halfway down it, but ive already cut and welded it, it's perfect , I'll throw up some pics later

Yeah I did it at work didn't take long lol

I sprayed my gear knob just waiting for it to dry then I'll whack it on, it looks better sitting low than that big truck gear stick lol

I like the length of the gear stick...when in first/third/fifth gear, I can use the functions of the H/U while resting my hand on the stick. Pretty lazy to lift my hand.
