today oil pressure went to 0 and the warning light light up the dash
no worries i think senders gone or liek the s1 they had issues with a bad earth causing bad oil pressure reading
keep going up welshpool rd at "speed limit"
then i hear a noise ohh no

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IJAfp5k ... e=youtu.be

funny feeling the oil pump has gone and *#%*#%*#%*#%ed something

there is a vid on facebook

so options
re build it? has a reco head on it too FFS! with new valve stem seals

throw in a low km ba/bf engine instead for more grunt?
sure i know the vct wont work but meh, how hard is wiring it up going to be?

the car is a daily so maybe a reco au block with my head?

BF motor. It practically bolts directly into your car. Don't run it without the BA/BF Pcm though. Im in the process now of putting a BF motor in my EL. I had a DOHC EB those motors are awesome in PRE-B series. B Series slow them down with their fatness. Its easy to remove security and bits these days too.

physically it fits no issues at all!

i took a bf for a spin today and it got balls!

only issues is a b series engine is at least 1k... + wiring etc
as well as new exhasut etc
not even sure if the au 5sp will bolt to the b series block?

AU 5 speed bolts up including flywheel. you have to drill the hole for the clutch cable in the sump. unless you swap for BA sump.

Wiring can be a head F*** but doable. then u need to either flash the security out or use hp edit etc

Best way to go about it is too find a BA PCM from a UTE without ABS this is the biggest pain in you don't. If you don't get a NON abs PCM you need a V.I.D block edit ford can do it or Xcal3. But that will sting. Reason is without a VSS signal (The abs pcm get the speed from the abs unit via CAN) they will go into limp home after 5 minutes and limit the engine to 3200RPM.

All I needed with my PCM was to have PATS turned off , Auto disabled, MIL light off with VCM suite this cost me $150.

Think I covered everything.

thats alot of money to fork out for an au, not keen on a weekend backyard/ front yard job?

majority could be done in 1 day between 2 people who have little experience.

i did not have the time to worry about it
and i really could not be f**k

plus still would have needed $350 for a engine crane as no one i know has one

new gaskets, fluids, water pump, rear main seal etc another few hundred tops
there is about $500 i would have needed ontop of the engine as well!
plus my time which workign 6 days a week does not enough

at the end of the day the engine is warrented, any issues its straight back to the mech
