How fast are ford I6's down the quater? My mate and I went to willowbank the other night. He got 15.3 in his fairmont with extractors full exhaust intake mods etc. I thought that was quite good considering. I done 15.9 in my R31 skyline with cat back exhaust etc.

What are other guys getting and with what mods? Will a manual do a 14.9 with small mods?

yeah.
my manual does 14.8 with f**k all mods.
exhuast, 3.45lsd and 122 dollar wade cam

thats also without revving it over 4800rpm, because it cant. lol
so it should do at least 14.6 if it ever gets fixed. Just look at the trap speed of 143kmh. its f**k s**t due to changing gears early.

1994 ED 6cyl.
havent worked out the rev problem mate but the cam pulls to 5700rpm so i should be changing gears around 5500-5600 so its definately slowin me down! I have replaced all sorts of s**t... but im happy with 14s neway. Its only a small cam and the car is my daily driver and i still get 650-700kms out of a 68l tank. :D

Ull find alot of 90 model 6cyl falcon manuals running mid-high 14's. they got lots of potential :D

Looks like my mates extractors done more than the cam then. I reckon the stupuidly high auto gearing really slow the fords down.

Wow, Those are pretty competitive times...I'm bringing mine to the drags next week but I was gonna be happy with a sub 15 time. Looks like my only disadvantage will be the 3.08 single spinner. (must get that fixed).

As a rough guide;

An EB/D auto 6 will do anythin from 16-17 sec. Most ive seen run somewhere in the middle of that.

5spd knock nearly 1 sec off that.

So beat that n your going pretty good aye :)

Scotty, if you ever go to pass me, I'll open my door and slam on the brakes.

You're pretty small, I reckon i could get you a good 30 metres.

15.53 from a manual EF XR6.
I know I could get a little lower. I was running 1/2 tank fuel and 40psi tyres.
