Hey all,
I have a ef series 1 5 speed futura and i have a problem with my ignition.
I believe someone has tried to steal my car and the ignition only goes to on and start. It doesn't stop at accessories or anything its either on or off.

Its the same when turning it off to. First i thought it could be a stuffed ignition barrel but that seems all fine and then i got told by ford that its some steering lock behind the barrel.

Does anyone know what could be going on because i dont wont to go and spend all this money if its not going to get fixed.

Thanks

Sometimes the back of the igniting switch falls apart which could be your problem. Pull off the steering column surround and have a look at the back of the switch, you'll know if it's falling apart if the brown colored disc with the heavy guage wires attached is not sitting up in the barrel properly.

Some one tried to flog my EL a few years ago (Southland Shopping Centre)
They got in with out any damage (must have used a RF Swepper) but they stuffed the ignition with a screw drive or something... Thank GOD for smart lock and hidden ignition switch. i had the same problem with mine after that, from memory it cost me $80 to have Ford change it. Only problem is now the Key does not match the doors. Hope with helps
