sounds like its defently the ignition side of things, so check it all. whats your mechanic friend say

admittadly he is a diesel mechanic so he was abit confused also.. What else is there to check on the ignition sysytem aside from the ignition leads, coil pack and spark plugs?

TFI stands for Thick Film Ignition. they have some sort of film on them when installed.
maybe crank angle sensor?

Cool thanks for that guys, Is there anything else on the ignition side that i can check make sure its working properly...Also just thinking a little outside the square would the BCM cause my car to just cut out like it has been, or maybe cam angle sensor on its way out?? Car is going to the doctors on monday to get its new coil pack in regardless so fingers crossed that fixes it

My Body Control Modual is busted mate, i tap it if it doesnt start, she fires up....no more problems, so id say no man but im not 100%
