My EBII is quite ticky up top, it's been like that since I put a regrind cam in it and never bothered with shims..

since it's done 300 million ks I figured I'd best replace the lifters as well.

So I've got a set of lifters here and I am about to go down to Ford and see what sort of shims they have available.

Is there anything I need to know before doing this? or it it pretty straight forward. Remove the lifter gear, pop out the old lifters, put an extra shim in and then push in the new lifter and tape it in place, replace the gear and remove the tape.

that sound about right?

Get a set of plastic clip on retainers. They hold the lifter in place so theres no need for tape.
