Don't know if i posted this in the right area!!!

Well anyhow, With my mums EF GLI When we turn the car on like normal the Rpm gauge goes up a little, But now it goes up for like 5 secs then drops down, the km disapper and the speedo wont work..

We have changed ECU changed nothing, Changed BCM's changed nothing, Put a another cluster in Changed nothing....

What else should we try???

Need this car on the road ASAP!!

I recently had instrument cluster problems with customers falcon and it was due to bad earth connections at the battery. Dunno if it will help, but least it's easy to check.

When my engine was rebuilt, my speedo stop working, i found out it was some sensor to do with the transmission. might be worth looking at.

Looked at the Sensors on the trans, it works then just stops so cant b that.. anyhow...

Sweet might have a look at earthing tomorrow

i had these same thing happen to me last week in my ef. after about 5sec of starting the engine the gauges would drop. we replaced the ecu twice and changed the BEM but found the alternator was causing this all. hope this helps

Sweet, we were thinking alternator wicked! now gotto hunt one down haha
