yes u can! BUT not if the car is staying auto!

i really dont think that the car should be able to start in D
also the inhibitor switch runs the reverse lights!
so get rid of that and no reverse lights

I'm pretty sure you can if the car is staying auto, i had to put my auto back in for a few weeks while i fixed my manual box and the auto ran fine. However, it could start in any gear (good for a laugh. The car doesn't move while you are cranking it in Drive). As for if that's safe (probably not) or appropriate, it really comes down to the driver, just use your brain and make sure the car is in Park or Neutral (mine was always in park because i had no handbrake :lol: )

Sooo.. Just rang a trans spares place. Switch is/was $55+GST before christmas. The place that makes them shut down before christmas, and hasnt restarted yet : So there arent many around (read : Hes out at the moment).

Grrrr

Still, $61 is better than $110

AAARRRRGGGG I just read that!!!! I should have gone to a transmision place maybe could have got it cheaper. Just put a new one in today $100 from odin auto parts.
