Hi I have started to get a knocking noise from the front of my car. It is not noticable for the first few minutes of driving from cold but when it gets warmed up it is there, when turning the wheel you can feel the knocking and it gets louder. Last week the steering fluid was low so I topped it up, could it just be air in the system which can be bled or is it the rack ready to be replaced? it has done 261,000 Kms dont know the history as it was bought a month ago.

I didnt really want you to say that more money to spend on it, as it only started happening last night, how long could it last? I have it booked in to be looked at tommrow after work but dont want to drive it if it may be unsafe

Well it was the Rack got it all sorted now though
I just hope I dont get any other problems

at least you got it sorted. Shouldnt have too many drama's no as you have fixed the most major component of noise on the car.
