Can anyone recommend the best oil grade and quantity for this transmission?

Workshop manual says D2 fluid and 2.05L.

So just find some ATF that's Dexron 2D

Here's what Tremec recommends. Don't forget a tube of Nulon friction modifier or similar before adding the ATF. Dexron III is ok as well.

Aren't they premixed and already containing the additives?

Yeah I run Dexron 111 without any hassles.
My workshop manual just says Dexron 11 fluid.
