hey owen,

just some more q's about this:

Does this run the FBW throttle control?

is the $2700 for ECU + loom outright? what price is there for exchange for the dudes that have already sourced parts? I imagine that the ECU and loom would be a large chunk of the price is all.

Yeah it runs the FBW throttle, If you supply all the parts it will cost around $1500 that includes all the electrical work & flash tuner.

that is a pretty good price

which flash tuner is it? (Xcal 1, 2, 3?)

So from a wrecked BA which parts would you need out of it sent down to you? Can you write me a list;)

Would I need the pedal box from the BA fitted into my ED?

Lastly (!!) if I am running a manual and want to use my T5 do I need the AU bellhousing to make it work with the BA?

G'day mate, It will be a flash 2 unit, You will need PCM , Throttle pedal, Engine loom, And the main PCM loom. You will also need the diagnostic connector. No you dont have to make a ba pedal box fit just the pedal, We are making custom brackets.

You guys will get heaps of interest selling the wiring looms ready to go. Im nearly keen enough to buy another EB to do it.

Have you figured out a price yet? Even a rough guide would be good.

Can the NA wiring setup still be used if you decide to turbo the NA motor or would you need to start with a turbo loom?

So wish this thread had've started before i put money down on my AU rebuild........boohoo.
I would've only needed loom and flash tune. I guess it doesnt matter if the ecu is auto( as most are??) , as they can be flashed to a manual one???

Hmmm....a 300kW Twin-Cam Maverick.....has a nice sound to it....lol

Cheers

Daz

I just bought a written off bf turbo ute as a doner for my el xr6. If I purchased a flash tuner from you and was to send you my bf pcm could you remove the security and send it back with the flash tuner. I assume this would be enough to get the engine started supposing I'm able to sort out the ignition wiring and the diagnostics port.

Then it will be up to me to get the speedo and tacho working and there's still the issue of abs. I should be able to suss it out with the right wiring diagrams. I just picked up my El Gregory’s and found a few things that I need to research. I don’t have a ba manual or any diagrams so I can only surmise. Workshop manual for both models would be nice.

As for instruments it looks like the tacho in the el tacho gets it’s signal from the dizzy but the ba will be different with coil packs or coil on plug or whatever it is. Speedo- looks like the signal goes from the speedo transducer via the pcm. I can’t imagine this changing a great deal. Hopefully it’s just a matter of tapping into the instrument wires on the bf loom. I guess I would need to find out if el and bf instruments use the same waveform and rectify it if necessary.

As for abs, I just had a quick look at the Gregory’s manual and it looks like it uses it’s own dedicated electronic control unit tucked in under the front left wheel arch. If all it’s associated wires are left connected and I keep the fuse box powered up it should be fine.

I kind of got carried away there thinking out loud, I need to have the looms in one hand and the wiring diagrams and pin outs in the other. In the mean time maybe you can answer some of the above questions. I also noticed you installed a manual boost controller, might be a stupid question, but why was it necessary?

Hey Man, yeah we can remove the sucurity for you no probs. As for the manual boost controller no it's not needed we are now actually running the factory control witch can be adjusted via the flash tuner we find this much better.
