hi all, i've just had to put a new motor into the NL it was from a EL falcon, I used the loom that was on the new motor, (it all looks the same) but now the auto is staying in 3rd gear.... does the NL need the fairlane engine loom? or could it be just a fuse or something????? pls help!! need to take the car to melbourne on wednesday!!!

hey mate,
just a query, when you pulled the falcon loom out, did you compare it to the fairlane loom??? was there any difference? ive never known there to be any difference in them before but im not too sure. cheers andy |

The round auto plug loom to the trans should be fine - the rectangular plug loom to the trans can vary pinouts between models. The speed sensor pinouts can certainly be different - so if there's no speedo as well, then that's most likely to be causing LHM.
