Well I finally got the cam in. After two days working on my car, and nearly torching it cus things weren't going my way, its in. (And i can't walk)

After some initial teething problems and prognosis from Jaysen and a few mates, we got it sorted. Now, what everyone wants to know.. whats it go like?

Well... where do i begin... :) I think from hearing other peoples descriptions I may of been extecting a different beast. I wouldn't describe this as a "monster". I would call it a School boy, or Freight train cam however. This thing just keeps pulling harder and harder!! Once the tacho is past 3k, it doesn't slow down untill the rev limiter spoils the fun! If you punch it at low revs, ie 1500-2000rpm don't expect to go anywhere in a hurry.

I was kind of expecting more of a sudden surge in power, but its very smooth power delivery. It does go from a little slugish to "WOW LOOK AT THAT TACHO NEEDLE GO!" but its a very smooth transition. It pulls in 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th! And most likely 5th too! 3rd is my favourite

It did have the herbs to hang the a** out with both wheels arched when given a bootful with 4 fat pricks in the car.

This cam wouldn't be for the faint hearted, you need to grab your car and wring its neck to get the most out of it, that means not being shy to take it to the redline and beyon, mine doesn't stop pulling, up to about 5700rpm so far. If your stuck at low revs and want to go, you can't be afraid to drop back a cog or two and hang on.

However..... There is something Jaysen and the Alted boys should be selling with the cam kit that they have overlooked. Brake pads. Yes. I think i need another set already! Going for a blast just before, I'm coming up to corners much quicker than i'm used to, and takes a bit to slow the old girl down ;)

I think there are still a few more teething problems, fuel mainly, but we'll have a look at that when its on the dyno soon.

20th I'll have some 1/8th mile times. Not sure how much lower they will be, as the cam is for high range power, 200m might not be enough for it to stretch its legs, but i'll be giving it a shot!

frank I'm sure a stg 2 can and will and has been done for the AU, I think even a stg 3 has ben done..

Hornet, get a set of extractors that will lower the torque cut in point, dunno by how much or where it will take up from, but this is something Jaysen advised me.. mind you I only ran the Cam for 2 days cause my car got cleaned up..

I know what you mean frank i was going to get the stage 2 until i heard bout the stage 3. I WANT ONE. Can't wait till the get it finished. It should fix my mid range lag at about 3 to 4000 rpm so it will be worth waitin for.

ok ok I managed to record something with a really dodgy mic.

Just note the car was cold, and just started in the first mp3 (you can hear the car cranking) And I dont have an ISC connected, it idles about 750 rpm when warm, and doesn't hunt, just lumps :). You will need to turn your speakers up as it's very quiet. But thats the general idea.
