why would you recon a 2nd hand low km motor? just put it in and drive it till it blows. i realise you can't verify the km's on the engines but they will go the distance. i sold my ef xr6 recently with 293000km's on it and it went as hard as the day it left the showroom floor. didn't drive much different either.

So you got rid of your XR prydey, shame it was a nice looking XR. Any reason for selling it? Upgrade i guess. :)

I still love driving my XR but it just sucks something like this has happened especially unnoticed until now. The way my car drove i never knew the bearing was as worn as it was... same with the tension chain.

Did explian a few things thou, one thing was the LPG, the way it ran was evidence that something was still wrong. Everything was checked out and was fine but the car still ran like s**t..

Posibly the tension chain had something to do with that i dunno?

Sorry im just rambling on now...

yes unfortunately i had to let my xr6 wagon go. i still see it around so not too bad. i still have pics in my gallery of it and won't be getting rid of them in the near future. i really didn't want to sell it but a change in circumstances meant it had to go. my 2 cars now are both pretty good cars though. one for cruising and holidays and one for performance.

hope you get yours back on the road soon.

i dont see how $3000 to suply and fit an engine is too much.

by the time you have the radiator checked, replace all the cooling system hoses, a few gaskets, injector clean, coolent, oil, oil flter, air filter, feul filter.

the cost adds up fast.

but then again you could just dodge and engine into it and risk a cooling system failure, gasket leak running poorly from dirty injectors/feul and then have to pay even more to have it fixed again.

if you are going to fix it, FIX IT PROPERLY

Okay heres the final word on whats getting done:

Full bottem end reconditioing and repairs to the bearing and bushes etc. $942. New seals, everything including labour. Thiers alot they are replacing got the written quote for it last night.

New timing chain, bearing, full radiator flush, tuning (petrol and LPG) labour, and all the oils etc needed and head repairs $1500.

If i give the go ahead now i can have my car back by the end of next week. Buuuut im still waiting on the warranty as they may be able to help me out with some of the repairs.

So yeah sound okay does it?
