ok maybe this is in the wrong section i dunno, but i thought i'd post it here cause i've seen a lot of LP Gas topics raised here, wish scott was with us, he'd love this new system, and best of all it's australian, produces more power than petrol with much lower emissions

http://www.gas-injection.com/index.html

only downside i can see to it is, it looks to me like once you convert you end up with a dedicated gas car, personally i wouldn't want that now, but in the future it'll be ok cause LP Gas will be available everywhere

Thats kindof the case except... You could always get your manifold drilled for a second set of injectors.

Im actually running the GTI LPG Setup (it was on new inventors wed night) and have been one of the people testing it for the past 5 years.

I love it. Lean Cruise : Got it. ECU Controlled open/closed loop : Got it. Nice Engine bay installation : Got it. More power than Petrol? - Got it.

.. Especially nice is that because the LPG is injected at the valve, I have 20% more room for air in the manifold than standard LPG Conversions. Makes a difference. Car is not out of breath at high RPM.

Yep saw the program too...I assume that injecting it you don't get that smell or gas leakage you get with carb type lpg systems...
Imo stay away from cng though its crapp...Unless you have big lassy motor .....

I currently have a BA dedicated LPG.

Interestingly, on GTI web site, they have a GREEN and a White/Silver coloured Head on the BA motor.
This is a different head to a Petrol BA.
The Dedicated LPG BA is also the same Green coloured head.
I wonder wich one you really need for their system.
Difference I understand is different compression ratio.
I also hare a Territory, and want to duel fuel it.
I tow a caravan and find that with LPG, the gas tank gets hot enough to Stop you filling up until you wait for it to cool down.
Main reason I want duel fuel is a backup when I run out of gas with a Caravan on.
I previously had a Duel Fuel EL Sedan. That was great but I needed a Wagon.
Most upset Ford wouldn't support duel fuel.

With caravan, LPG Falcon Wagon is 500Kms between fills. 104Ltrs.
With caravan, I get about 11Lt/100Kms.
Tank is rated at 116Ltrs, so I have good range.

My main reason for duel fuel requirements are limited range with Caravan on an Inability to carry extra fuel in Jerry Cans like I can with Petrol.

When towing its hard to know gas consumption, especially as gas gauges are rarely right. It would be interesting if you could drill new holes on the manifold and keep dual fuel, although I don't know how this would work.

If you look on the GTI Web site you'll also see a number of cars that were included vanilla, including a HSV R8. They all made more power on LPG without any other changes, but of course the engines also respond well to the LPG Changes.

You need the Petrol Wiring : So that you have injector plumbing.

The conversion uses a *standard* LPG Tank (not one needing special pumps), a slightly specialised regulator, and a number of injectors.

It revs, performs, etc just as you all *wished* your LPG Car did.

Dont knock it just because you cant see any working proof. Ive had my car on this gear for 150000km now (surprised anyone) however that was more luck, and knowing the right person at the right time.

Bill (the inventor) is awesome. His support is Second to none. Hes hoping to commercialise the gear ASAP.

So, basically all required for converting a car to dedicated LPG would be these injectors, and an lpg tank?

That'd be sweet.

man, I'm sitting here with money in my hand. I just want this injection system.

Nigel, you have been talking about this for a long time now - I'm jealous from the first time I heard you mention this. I've even rung Bill to try and get a system! :)

Do u have any idea when this will come to market? I just wont be able to get my hands on this quick enough! I'm running a touch under 300rwkw with twin converters and GRA throttle, changing from carby to efi could give anything up to 20% increase - could nearly be 60kw! plus traction control, automated misting - all cause i can use the injector pulse again.

SWEEET

same here. provided the conversion BACK to petrol is just as simple as unplugging the tank, replacign the injectos and hookign up the fuel pump again, im in, and ill buy it as soon as its on the market

Im not sure about availability : The Liberal Policy to Tax LPG nearly caused him to give up!.

Ref Conversion : Your standard fuel rail is drilled to accept the Gas Line from the converter. Its a standard tank, GTI Converter, and injectors and thats it. If you run aftermarket ECU even better!.

You can keep a spare fuel rail with petrol injectors if you want to change back, or you could tap the manifold for a second set of injectors and you could switch both ways. I used to run GRA, and pulled it when I was told I could get this. I LOVE it.

Remember - a lot of the power increase *could* be related to the fact that your inlet manifold will have appx. 20% more room for air (now that it isnt carrying LPG vapour with it..).

LPG Vapour also mixes better than Petrol mist.

Im sure I'll hear from Bill when it gets released!.

i so want this!
i have found that i run gas about 90% of the time... the other 10% is just so the injectors dry up like they did in my ild mans car... petrol prices are fkn stupid! a guy at work was telling me he can only use OPtimax on his 5.0L EL Fairmont Ghai cause if he doesn't then it pings to thje s**t house... 116 bux and he has a full tank which will only last him a week... ridiculous!
i'm wondering if something like this would be worthwhile for ppl like him...
