You will get more of a noticeable and enjoyable boost in immediate performance by going for the cam next - it WILL run fine without extractors tho obviously not to it's full potential untill you DO get extractors.

Ideally you should fit cam AND extractors, but if you must go for one first then the other later then do the CAM FIRST.

Ive just been down this road with my EF - I fitted the JMM cam from my ED to the EF ages ago - with otherwise stock FACTORY PRESS BENT 2 1/4 EXHAUST and STOCK MANIFOLD - and it hauled a*** quite nicely like that for about 2 years thank you very much. Recently I have fitted a Berklee 2 1/2 cat back and gained some improvement but it's not earth shattering and NOT AS MUCH IMPROVEMENT AS FITTING THE CAM ALONE GAVE ME.

I will be rebuilding/modifying the spare motor now, no rush for mods, saving for a cms stage 3 package
Do ice ignition make a coil for el? Or should I just get Bosch dizzy+coil?
Also how tall a stall converter should I get? Car will be a daily with some possible towing duties (ski boat) any idea where I can get upgraded bands and clutches for the btr? I assume from amurica but hoping something will be stocked here

Gezza has an ICE Ignition in his, he wouldnt have much chance from 10g lol. Worth it though especially from CVE, Paul is a top bloke and the only guy I would trust with my car!

Yeah saw some of their dizzys $1300+ couldn't find a single coil to suit, only the commode one, the 4200...
Maybe I'll go a Bosch haha cheaper and easier to find. Proooobably don't need a $5k ignition system for a 150-170rwkw n/a streeter...

I have Tickford head/ cam, au injectors, extractor, high flow cat, Lukey high flow air filter, big mouth, 2.5" cat back running off a stock ecu and I reckon I have pulled at least 400
times over my car that is

What I am getting at is it must be one big f**k cam to be producing 200rwkw off a "ported AU XR6 " head, known to others as a tickford head. Sounds like either s**t or s**t dyno work to me.
Pauls pushing for 200 with a charger and you got it with a " billet cam" and a port? Looks like you got f**k SWC, should have just cammed and ported it mate lol

He hasn't got just a MAJORLY worked head and Custom ( CVE's proven design! )Billet Cam, he has 3" Exhaust, Wolf V500, ported inlet manifold etc etc.

The head, cam, ported inlet manifold, J3 tune made 186rwkw, 3" and Wolf V500 has nearly got Gezza over the 200rwkw mark!

Well the explanation to scw's question would have been good. A tickford head ported and a cam aint ever going to produce 200rwkw. I'm not in Vic, but I have heard CVE dont live up to the hype and they dyno results are questionable. Prove me if Im wrong. Gezza, get a dyno at somewhere else other than cve and see what the results are.

Are you going to pay for him to do it? CVE do live up to their hype, CVE actually built the BrockyB8's EA which just went into the 12's on the 1/4 and it's 230rwkw! Which means the fastest N/A SOHC I6!

I'm not having a go at you mate sorry if it sounds like I am, I was sceptical at first but when I did some research I saw the light and saw that CVE really deliver the goods!

Fair comment.
Oh we also won Springnats N/A six 4 years in a row. plus many other dyno comps.
But hey dynos lie, which is a fair call, but the 12.8 @ 110 mph is hard to trick. Did it during the 28 deg afternoon at Heathcote and also at Calder, Cant fudge both racetracks.

Gez's first time racing his car went 13.7 or 13.8 ( sorry can't remember ) he learnt alot that day, and that was when it was making 184.
But yeah 79raven your right, What would CVE know.
Have a crack in getting into the LOW13's or better still join the 12 sec club, as we are lonely

If I wanted to I definitely wouldn't do it it almost 2 ton of car mate. Dont see the point. Id rather aim for the under 10 club personally, maybe when I stop paying for nappies and school fee's I just might grab myself another Lj.
I also didnt say " what would CVE know". What I said is I have heard your not completely up to the hype. Ive heard bad stories about your tunes for dyno sheets and a few unhappy customers.
Problem is mate, when your name is supposedly the best in Vic, you have to deliver every job. 100% job done for the $300 and the $30,000 bloke, not to mention tuning a car correctly and not just for big numbers on the dyno so it looks good.
Like I said, Ive heard stories thats all.
