Went to buy a replacement o2 sensor, was asked pre or post? Thought Ba only had 1 o2 sensor on engine near back bottom drivers side ?? (Facing from the front towards firewall)

you are correct, ba only has one.. which is pre cat..
bf onwards have 2, one before/pre cat and one post/after the cat..

some spare part stores are idiots and only follow a catalogue,

Thanks Troyman, thought I was right, bloke at ford told me its a hego sensor not an o2!!

o2 is just a short term for it, its also known as hego and lambda sensors

it stands for "heated exhaust gas oxygen " sensor
