So I've intalled the el fans... and from reading the doco it says 'bolt to top of radiator using factory thermo fan bolts' well unfortunately mine didn't come with any bolts,

but I can't see how it would bolt up anyway cos the holes only line up to the header tanks.. see pic

Unfortuantely your radiator doesn't have the captive nuts in the header tanks, as they on later models.

If you are replacing the radiator in the future ensure you get the later model radiator. For now, some people have managed to cable tie the shrould to the top of the radiator core frame. Be Careful drilling holes though, don't want to drill into the radiator core.
