Hi Guys,

Got the afternoon off today, so i went down to autobarn and pick up a TFI rampod and TFI pod adaptor(part 9018) ment for 5litre because didn't have (part 9045 6cyl EF<EL<BA). Although looked exactly the same in the brochure except one has elongated holes for some reason.

Cost $60 all up, took about 15min to fit, had to cut out the plastic cone funnel inside lid adaptor so the 3in adaptor would sit flush. Used some blue gasket sealant to make it air tight.

Left the Tickford snorkel on for cold air feed, will be enclosing the pod next week some time, too busy with work at the moment.

Car has improved throttle response and sounds good after 3000rpm. The steel adaptor diffently cuts down on induction noise when compared with straight connection to plastic pipe.

Any comments would be great...................

Cheers Luke.

for what you have just gained by using a pod filter, you have lost also as it now sucks in the hot air from under the bonnet

he said he was going to block it off. Good work on fitting it all up. And $60 isn't too bad considering you bought everything at autobarn.
This should help with future modifications. (As long as you block it off).

Cheers

I put i pod on my ef i gained better throttle response but it seemed to loose a little bit of power around the top end casue of the hot air it takes in from the engine. If you put it back inside the air box it should be ok

Took the car for a bit of a strap tonight and holding it in first gear on the auto. The throttle response and on/off acceleration is great. Really snaps your neck back on/off the throttle in first gear compared with the previous setup (xr8 snorkel, k&n panel filter).

cheers Luke...
