There's some great numbers out there for the NA 'E' car engines.
Why didn't Ford just up the KW's and take the fight to Holden. Especially with the AU. Looking at all of these power figures everyone is getting, it makes Fords attempts with the AU's XR6 VCT HP engine look almost silly.

Just how bullet proof are these NA E car engines?

What is the first thing likely to go in the engine, as you try and squeeze more power out of these things?

And what is the best way to increase torque first, and KW's second?

Why would Ford want much more than they got in the first place. They were more powerful and torquier than the commodore six's anyway. Car companies make their cars as economical as possible so they last longer basically, if the standard Falcon came out with as much grunt as some of you guys are producing, most buyers would stray away because they probably wouldn't be as drivable either. I'm sure the average joe would love a lumpy cam in his family car that has trouble just idling.
