i have a 1999 ford taurus. changed the power steering pump and the rack n pinion. now i have a leak at the fitting of the high pressure line that goes into the rack n pinion. have tried two different o rings. how can i find out what size it needs before taking the whole line off?

You could try ford spares, they should be able to help. Maybe just get a whole new hose......
