Hi all,
i have been quoted $1600-1700 to replace my EF engine with a newer AU engine with 47,000ks, fitted and with 6mnth parts/labour warranty at Narellan Parts Plus. Does this sound reasonable? thanks |

That's reasonable especially since its fitted. If it wasn't fitted I'd be a bit sus.

That sounds pretty good, I got quoted $3000 over here for same thing. If you have the cash look up ITS Performance, see what they can do for you.

I have dealt with the guys at Narellan before, pretty good bunch of blokes. Mark from ITS performance works there...

Mark hasnt updated his prices yet but based on his old ones from memory you could get one of his stage 2 motors for that price. That's fitted, and with everything new. That'd be my preference.

call Mark at ITS and see what he can do for that sort of money.
I think his sports rebuilds wouldn't cost much more. |

make sure they know whats involved in fitting a AU motor they need to supply a AU bellhousing and a AU alternator.
it is a fair price If you were located in melbourne i could sell the motor and arrange fitting for the same price . |

i thought marks prices are based on AU engine swap, ak47 has an ef.

I had this conversion done early this year, from Narellen (by Mark).
There has not been a single aspect regarding his work that I would fault - remember the engine sub-frame has to be modified on an EF to accomodate the greater dimensions of the AU sump. The subsequent mod to the frame was both structural and clean. The car runs like a dream and pulls excellent fuel figures whilst running the origional EF ECU.

Ok everyone, thought i'd let u know that the AU engine is in, and it is AWESOME!
Seems to have a lot more power to it than the EF engine did, and im yet to see how i go for fuel, but so far im very very impressed! I highly recommend. |

Well im not exactly sure exactly how its done, but like mspw said, the original EF ECU seems to work fine, and that they did have to modify to be able to fit the larger AU sump, and all modifications seem to be done well, as far as i can tell.
Steve was the guy at Narellan who organised mine, but im not sure who carried out the procedure. |
