Hi Guys,

Been a while since i responded but just had the rear muffler! removed, yes it appears the system actually comprised of an actual muffler mounted at the back, not so much a resonator (I mean this thing was huge!). Much much happier - car now has a wonderful idle, and once you get above 2500-3000 rpm it sounds fantastic. Thanks to all for your input and have a great day :)

Not all that happy with the note - would things improved if the rear resonator came off?

Would help if you stated what in particular you wern't happy with about it? i.e. if your not happy because it's too loud, then no, removing the resinator will not help.

Sounds like you had been sold one very wierd setup. Is there still a front resinator as well or only a middle muffler now?

Only the middle muffler now.............and yes, to me the original was really quiet, sounded like it may have been only 1 or 2 db above standard with no noticable note change.

G'day guys G.K.Mick here i have a EL xr6.I've had Redback systems before 2 1/2 inch front muffler, rear hot dog and it droned to much. Just put Pacemaker headers high flow cat and 2 1/2 inch Lukey system, front and rear mufflers.Sounds great no drone, cost about $1400.

From what I understand mufflers quieten the sound where as resonators seem to cut the drone which is why the best sound is probably with one of each.
My question is whats the difference between a resonator and a hotdog? Im guessing they're the same thing?
