was only going to replace the rods in a ba series 1 so i can run about 350- 370 rwk just got turbo rebuild and a performance wheel fitted to it .engine got dyno results of 327 rwk before turbo rebuild . thats about the limit for standard rods .can i just change the rods and fitt new bearings and rings only without having the crank cleaned up ,going to hone the bores but thats all .new gaskets and head bolts as well

If you're going to open the engine up you may as well do it right. Thats my opinion

might as well do a full rebuild, to change conrods head has to come off, sump off, pistons have to come out, piston pin needs to be pressed out so rings will need changing meaning cyl should be honed and rod bearings replaced as well, so at this point your already 3/4 way through a rebuild...

If the engine has only done 100,000km, then why pull it down? Is there an issue with the engine?

Fair enough. I have seen a BAI with 1500nm at the rear and a damn sight more than 400RwKw. Mind you I do think it was a bit of a freak engine. If you want to do the rods then do the whole enging. As has been said, to do the rods, you will need to pull the engine down anyway.
