1/4 socket and extension is the way to go once the bolts ae about 4-5 turns out just lever the socket away from the pulley and hey presto, too late for you now.

Ah well, I'll remember that for next time, hopefully there won't be one but...

It's all now, fitted a GMB water pump and Nuline pulley. The old pump was a GMB unit aswell with a genuine Ford pulley, the Nuline pulleys are definately better as they are full metal not plastic like the Ford ones!
Managed to press the pulley on using Dad's big a** vice, and a socket to support the shaft on the fin side.
