Hello again
Looking at some rough figures for various things here :)

1 What would I be looking at for a low k's ED XR6 motor?
2 What about a XR6 auto ECU?

Also, has anyone used a stage 3 head, cam, valve kit from CMS? What sort of figures are ya looking pulling? (Kw's, 1/4 times)?

Lastly, what am I looking at for a 2000RPM stally?

Thanks

Go a 2500 stally, 2000 is less than stock.

Id say roughly $400 for the engine, and $80-$100 for ECU?

You're in SA, so maybe a different situation over there..

There is a wreckers over here (in Walliston just outside of Perth) that has been advertising XR motors for 400 for months..

I've seen the ECU's go for more though... I saw one go on Ebay for 200.

As for the cam..

check this out:
http://www.rpd.com.au/packages.html

I've been looking at the 530 exchange cam... with vernier and heavy duty springs.... thats what you should be looking at if you want big numbers.

s**t Yeah! :D , just wondering though, If I were to get the head/cam kit, would it be worth getting the XR motor? or just a standard low K ED motor? :?

if you get a head and cam package.. what good is the XR motor since all the differences are in the head, which you won't be using??

get an XR ECU.. that will help.

you'd be better off with an EF/EL motor as they ran higher compression, and generally see better results

For example in my EF i had the head machined, plus used an AU headgasket and ran a mild cam and had 138kw at the wheels. It usually takes a little more work for a boxcar to reach those figures

Fordfairmont...

so you are saying that taking the heads out of the equation, that the boxcars block is different as far as compression goes?

If he is putting a worked head and cam on it, wouldn't it have the same compression as an EL block with the same head and cam on it?

Having said that, adding a BBM and EL ECU would give a boost to low end power...
