(as recommended in the stickies) Forget about brands - go by the profile.

And as it also states in the sticky it is impossible to give advice on cams unless you are very specific about what you want. You need to say what gearbox you have, what diff ratio, what headwork/springs, exhaust, method of ECU tuning, what rpm range you want the power in, how much of a lumpy idle you are willing to put up with....

btw - RPD dont exist anymore

Exactly, thats why I got the Crow, because they had the profile that I wanted.

yeah the 977b will run stock ecu, but be rather *funky*, if your looking at wade (their a fordmods sponsor) they have a new profile out thats supposedly a half 1636 and half 977b, its called the "1636C977B"

i always laugh at people when they say i got a Stage two cam,..... yeah and???

Maybe its too old school now-a-days????

Yeah... It was easier when your only options were 25/65, 35/75 or 40/80!

Valve lift? None of us knew anything about that back then.

Lobe separation was unheard of.

Give praise to Phil Irving and A Graham Bell. They certainly bought me out of the dark ages. Still refer to them, and Sir Henry Ricardo's work

Did you know that Burt Munro made his own cams for his Indian???? And gave some of them to the guy that started Iskedairian Cams (Isky), and he couldn't work out how Burt came up with the particular grinds, that really worked. Basically they (cams) opened the the inlet valve with a whollop and closed more gently.
Anyway, thats history.
