My XF is on dual fuel and ever since bought the car the fuel injection was running rough, by that i mean that when i switch it to petrol and start the car it will stall if i dont rev the engine pretty hard, the second i take the foot off the accelerator it stalls (its an auto). When i switch it back to gas its running perfectly fine. I figured its the fuel injection since its running good on gas, but i dont even know where to start checking for problems , and its expensive for any mechanic to even have a look at EFI. any advice on where to start???

Im guessing the car was never ran on petrol by the previous owner. A change of injectors and fuel pump could solve the problem. Thats just my limited knowledge after owning 4 LPG cars in a row. When I ran my EB on LPG for about 6mths without using petrol once the car started to give symptoms like your stating.

That would be a good bet.
Change your fuel filter first though - that probably hasn't been changed in a long while.
Petrol goes stale as well, so some fresh fuel added to the tank wouldn't hurt either.

thanx for that, one more thing, its probably unlikely its anything with the electronic part of the fuel injection, like wires or the computer??
If the fuel is stale do i only have to add fresh fuel and fueal filter or do i also have to clean the lines?

I'm not famiiar with XF setup but if they have a MAP sensor would be worth checking it to make sure it is still connected to vacuum line.

Dump fuel if you think it is stale or if there is only very little fill up with new. Better to empty out though.

If changing fuel and filter makes some improvement try some injector cleaner.

Good luck.

yeah, injectors r probly worth doing anyway.
did mine and noticed a huge difference in response.
much smoother to drive aswell.

also, just a though, but could the spark plugs have to smaller spark?
i know gas plugs have a smaller gap than normal ones, so is it possible the gap is to small to be running the fuel properly?

regarding the injectors, do i just pull them out like sparkplugs? then give them to mechanic for cleaning.

yeah, i found it was cheaper to buy a new set off ebay though...
depressurise ur fuel tank (unplu the fuel send line from the pump.
the loosen the fuel rail, and pull it backtoward the intake manimold.
this though give yuo enought room to unplug and remove them.
