well the ea is off to the mechanics,,never will i try to replace the timing cover gasket again,,,bloody fords

the timing cover cracked and now the balancer wont go back on,,the sump gasket got all screwed up,timing chain guide is rooted,the list is endless,almost.

but i have a mechanic here that will let me pay it off and a friend who owns a tow truck...at least the head gasket went on ok,,

how the f**k you manage that timing covers are piece of piss

drop the sump bout 10mm so you dont f**k the gasket
release the tensioner
how you crack the cover ? forcing it?

I think it might have something to do with it not sliding on easily and then using a sledge hammer to help ease it on... lol...

it had a few cracks on the inside,,when we did it up one just cracked right through,and no i don't use hammers to put things together.

unless its needed.

Neither do I, but in the last 2 days, I have heard of guys using hammers to do the work of a Ford special tool. And a roll of Gaffa tape to fix an idler pulley.

Who says you cant fix Falcons with a hammer and tape. I realise its a bit late not, but going by this theory, you could have used Gaffa tape to fix the cracks in the timing case, then hammer the bastard back on. :D

it cracked on the middle one on the tentioner side,from front to back,but there were long ones on the inside right where it bends near the timing marks,oh well,once it fixed i wont touch that part of it again,once bitten.
