Dont even consider shimming that much. Your rocker geometry will be shot and I would be surprised if the arms didnt break first time you gave it some RPM.

Measure the slack, pull the rocker gear off and get the pedistols machined.

they've been shimmed 5.1mm for like a year. Running perfect. I just had 2 stainless steel washers in one assembly because I didn't get enough of the ones I was given with the cam. When I started hearing ticking 2 days ago I stripped it all and discovered that one of those 2 washers was cracked. Hence I want to replace those 2 washers with something harder.

Wow, I am impressed. I have cracked rockers with a lot less shims than that.

We've only got 1.9mm shims that suit the requirements of our reground cams.
