can someone please confirm whether or not the EF Falcon's have retractable side mirrors or not. The RHS unit is broken and is basically just holding in place whilst driving (the mirror part works fine - it's the plastic housing that is the issue). Not sure whether or not there's a way of fixing it if it is indeed restractable or jusy glue it togther (which looks like that has happened previously).
cheers.

if by retractable you mean you can hold it and pull it in towards the car and out towards the bonnet then i woul say yes, my eb ones are, and i dont think ford are that stupid they would go backwards with something like that...

or im that stupid and am misundersanding what your talking about.

why not check the otherside?

yeah, you understand correctly.
i would check the other side but it's kind stuffed also.
when looking at the unit itself it just doesn;t seem like they would be. I need to pull up besides another EF and try theirs out.

Alright I just checked that it only folds rearwards. It will not fold towards the front.

Not a broken spring or something is it? Bit hard to understand what the mirrors doing...

If the spring on the front side is broken then it may continually fold back easily...

EF/EL mirrors don't spring back to centre with springs, you have to manually push them back into place., therefor you can leave them folded in at carparks etc.

Oh ok, different to the EB then, but id still say (without looking mind you, i may be totally wrong :D First time for everything... or not  ) that it uses a spring to hold it in normal position, but when folded back the same spring pulls in the other direction and holds it in place. Personally i think its a bit of a waste. Its not like theyre much wider than the car :S
