Hey fellas i havent been here for a long time but it is my hour of need i live in a small 2 street town up nth of townsville no racq service here and locksmithes "charge" massivley for the drive out from townsille.

My mate dropped my keys in the boot and then the boot fell shut. Ouch :(

Basically is there anyway of getting in to my EL '97 gli Falcon with out the keys (bought with no spare).

The whole car shut up fully bonnet down and latched.

But my rear drivers door has taken damage from a roo and has no outside door latch so i see into the door cavity.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

P.S. sorry if this is in the wrong forum its the best place i figured El owners would be in

Thanks in advance,
one sad ford owner going thru seriously withdrawel symptoms.

P.S.S By the way if that info is sensitive and you believe i may be trying to get into a stolen car just email me and i'll prove it is indeed my pride and Joy.

Thank for any Help AzzA by the way its my 24th today and this happened on friday the 13th ............ welcome to the twilight zone . And ya'll have a drink for me B'day :D

There are several approaches you can take.
1/. if you have access to another EL you can pop the boot and take a look at the latch arrangement. Then remove your number plate and make a hole where you can access the latch to pop it. You can then gromet the hole to seal it.

2/. Break the drives door window as it is the easies to replace and pop the boot.

3/. Unlatch the damaged back door some how and pop the boot.

To pop the boot without the key you need to remove the button assy and apply 12v to one of the wires on the release button..

one thing I found out by accident was I can open the wifes EF with my AU keys but can't start it. know anyone round the area with a EF to AU? its a shot.

errm in NSW we use NRMA to open cars when we lock our keys inside.... Maybe if you try RACQ they can do the same.... Just a thought

a bent flat steel sheet would work, as you need to push the latch down on the drivers door. just remove the plastic trim if you can and you should be able to do it.

id go with the broken window, its cheaper then getting a locksmith to do it... just hurts a little inside seein ya pride and joy being broken lol but give the window a break.. then just ring around, u can get windows quite cheap and replace it yourself.. locksmith prices are just rediculas, its sad when its cheaper to smash and replace

I was going to say ask Till_Lind, but he's only good at getting out of a locked boot, not into it lol.

HA HA poor Till.

i would maybe suggest calling to find out the cheapest window. maybe the Rear Qtr in the door if you can reach the handle from there.

all your ways suck.
call racv theyll do it in 20 secs and not damage your car at all, its very easy and much cheaper than buying a new window.

p.s. the rear 1/4 window is the most expensive to replace.
