so mounting an eb aircon pump to fit on an au motor with the log manifold you need the Xh brackets???

from my understanding if i get an au motor i can use the eb water pump, alternator, power steer pump can be bolted upto an AU motor from a EB preserpintime belt.....

are the EA to EL Air con compressor interchangable?

i don't really give a s**t with the air con as i don't have it connected (no belt) BUt with an au motor you f**k need a

no no no hang on a moment you can buy belts that are shorter as some au's never came out with an air con system

to put the eb aircon pump on the au block all you need to do is use two top bolts from a ef/el or au(longer) and make two 12mm spacers to fit between the block and the top holes on the eb pump. as the xh aircon pump bracket is the same part as ea/ed (acording to ford)

and as said above the aircon pumps from ea to au will interchange between one block to another(they will all bolt on) but ea/eb has different lines to ed and onwards.
but if your not worried about the aircon working. its easy!
if you have el manifold just use any pump from ef to au. just use it as a idler.
and if you are using the log manifold well you can go in the direction of the xh set up.
or the other option of trying to get a smaller belt and not having aircon?
im not sure if falcons after ed came without aircon??

Some XGs came without A/C.
You can buy an idler pulley and bracket from ford. i think it was about 80 bucks...
that way you can the serpentine belt without A/C..
Thats what they do in the speedway cars with E series engines in X series..

someone said slice the data line (pin 34) into pin 58 (first bank of injectors) to get the ED trip computer working fully on a el ecu. is that true. can you give me guides on tricking the el ecu to work with the ed trip computer
hmm actually you might be on the right track ?
The trip computer needs to see mainly three inputs:
-fuel level
-speed
-injector pulse
The EF/EL's have all three combined in one line (EL ECU pin 34), EB/ED have all three separate.
The EB/ED trip computer already has the first two inputs covered, injector pulse is the missing one when an EL ECU is fitted, so the thread mentioned to hook up to pin 58 (or can be pin 59), for an injector pulse input. It's been said to work, but I don't know if it is accurate - it depends on how similar the outputs from an EB/ED ECU pin34/58/59 are. The EB TC gets it's pulse info from ECU pin34, so it must be different, else the injector pulse would've been used from factory. I suppose checking specs from a ford manual, or measuring them may provide the best answer.

i want single belt on the ed fairmont with the log manifold with the au engine and/or doing it on the the old engine ready to transfer straight over to the au engine when i do the au engine conversion.

i decided to buy a xh ute tensioner/belt/aircon brackets from a auto shop when its time and does a xh or el aircon pump bolt straight onto the au/ed single belt engine using xh aircon brackets.

can i get away with not changing the ac lines if i use a ef/el/xh condensor
