Umm, quick question.

Last night I dragged at VT SS sersies 1 along Blackburn Rd.

Well as we came out of the lights off Princes Hwy we were both doing 60kmh. Then we both Booted our cars the same time, he was driving a manual and me a Auto, yet I gave him a bit of a whooping.

I think he didnt even give it a go but I thought if its normal for a i6 to make a VT SS make look ordinary, all I have is a zorst.

VT ss s1 is the holden 5.0L, not the quickest V8 out there....

Pretty much on par with the standard ford 5.0L

And the VT is a heavy car, a fair bit heavier than an EB

He could have been in a higher gear or something... You would beat him to 80km/h easily but the V8 then comes on from there quite well.

Well I saw the nose of the car pull up in a hurridly fashion, but I just blasted him, like it wasnt even at contest, ok it was for about 20 mtrs and then it was his game over. I was sitting in about 2nd gear I guess on the auto.

Im thinking he was just a really ordinary driver and missed a gear of something, eith that or I dont have a standard Engine..............unlikely

I know a few ppl with the 5.0L SS's... they're usually tired old engines that have been thrashed their whole life. I dragged a VK SS one in my old EA and won. Fords have wicked mid range power too. I'm not surprised you won :)

yeah I would agree with midrange, but it wasnt like I was a bumper in front of him when we stopped dragging, it was a thrashing.

You should smash the 5.0L with your mods!!!! I raced a friend's VS Clubby manual in my ED auto (only mods then cam and cat back) and I'd be in front (by about a guard-driver's door) until 130 and then he'd pull away. On a rolling start from about 50 it was much the same story, although I could pull away more at that speed.

I'd smash his a*** from a dead start with a manual now. I'd be interested to see when he'd catch me. Hanging out for a new cam and head work :D

When working out Kilograms per Kilowatts, what is the sum.

eg. SS weights 1722kg and has 179kw of power.

this one wasnt stock as a rock, it had paceys, 3 inch cat back, cold air intake, and i think that was it. I'd like to line him up properly, as i have 3.7's in now and i reckon my car is runnin s**t hot at the moment!
