is your car duel fuel?
it sounds similar to what hapened with my mums car, it used to be gutless and slow up hills, turns out the gas was way out of tune. it would appear that electronic gas cpu's dont like being deprived of battery for to long

I know what he means. When pointing up a slope it sounds like oils draining down into the sump. I wondered if the sump oil is being picked up by the crank and thats what you hear or is it something to do with the transmission oil in the converter.
Mine does it on a slope as well

If it happens on a manual then it must be the oil going to the rear of the sump and being thrown up by the crank and the noise is it draining down into the sump. Maybe.....

hey,
i had the exact same noise in my eb before i converted to manual, and my bro's ef does the same. The problem seems to be the oil slushing around when on a hill in the auto box. I managed to fix the noise in my eb by refitting the filter inside the auto pan (people often dont push the filter in hard enough). So if you;ve recently serviced your auto trans then this could be the problem, and it was for me.
