Hi all!

Just wanting to get some oppinions on a couple of issues with my EF.

1. Engine has always had issues with rev hang. Idle control valve is disconected and base screw is set to 700-800rpm. Even with the the disconected Idle control valve it still hangs. How is that possible? Ideas? Details on engine modifications are in my sig.

2. I have a Nolothane shim type camber kit and it squeeks like all buggery. This is driving me mad and I cant take it much longer. It sounds horrible.
They have been out and re-greased with genuine Nolothane grease, silicone spray, white lithium grease, WD40 you name it, I have tryed it.
What I would like to know is will a Superpro kit be any better, has anyone had both? The Fulcrum rep assured me thier kits wont squeek and they consider squeeky bushes to be faulty.

Cheers.

I will check this though both mating surfaces were squeeky clean when I did the rebuild and new gaskets used throughout incuding the upper plennum.

I didnt change the throttle body gasket though..

I also made a blanking gasket for the Idle valve incase it was stuck in an open position for some reason. Had the same issue with the old motor and cam (977b).

As for the bushes issue....I have used Nolathane and Pedders, and found them to be crap.
I have currently got SuperPro bushes, and they are great, no noises, and they haven't turned to powder either.....been in 2 different cars ( same bushes & arms ), and are about 10 years old now....and they are still good.

I've been told only to grease the Id of the nolothane bushes, not the outside. No troubles with mine.

My car had rev hang. The accelerator cable was binding and wouldn't fully release. Next time it's hanging lift the acc pedal with you're hand, foot an see of it drops. I also had issues when I got it because it didn't have the return spring on there.
