what does touching the thermo fan shroud matteR?

With vibrations it can wear a hole in the snorkel as the plastic on the thermo shroud is tougher. Its a little more professional not letting things rub against each other in the engine bay.

Go the EL GT snorkle. It fits better and if you use the AU one part of the opening is blocked when the bonnet is closed so you loose the advantage of the larger inlet (if any against the EL GT) against the stock EF EL snorkle.

ED's require the XH snorkel.

If the EF engine still has the BBM on it then u can use the EF airbox setup, if your putting your log manifold on it then then slap the XH one on.

Yeah found the same thing, when I fitted my snorkel I used chalk board chalk. Rubbed it around the rim of the snorkel and closed the bonnet, then checked the mark it left on the rubber bonnet seal. Even with the EL GT snorkel I ended up not using the original holes and moving it back a bit to get a spot on seal.

I got the BA one from ford but it touched the thermals and was about half an inch off the hole on the airbox so i f**k it off.

Ill order some EL GT ones off ebay soon.
