ok so a while back i posted a thread about my little laser i also have, it had a blown head gasket, well i've replaced it again, and got it all back together fire up nicely and seems to runs pretty good with the exception of the idle, but i can fix that later.

so the problem is, upon inspection of the radiator again i notice that creamy colour sludge starting to foam up, i'm not to concerned cos i reckon it'll be oil in there from the last time it blew, but anyways does anyone know a good way to get all this crap out. i havent drained the sump yet either, i flushed the radiator and took the thermostat out so it went all the way through the motor as well, its a lot cleaner in there now, but still some oil.

i heard shout stain remover works, but i'm not abo ut to pour that in the motor if its untrue :)

any advice guys?

go to repco and get yourself a bottle of loctite radiator cleaner. this stuff really is the s**t. just follow the directions and be sure to flush it completly by removing a heater hose and jamming a garden hose in the radiator,

Remember to have your heater on full while you flush/drive/rinse out the radiator.

i'll change it tomorrow, my main concern was the head was warped and it was still leaking at the head gasket................... stupid me tried to do it on the cheap and didnt get the head checked for cracks.

hopefully its good though.

it seems to run fine was just worried about the cream sludge, i'll flush it and change the oil and let everyone know how it went........(fingers crossed)

i got spare motor here, so if worse come to worse i can pinch a head of it, does anyone know about the timing and stuff when i ut another head on it.
i think the cam spocket has to be at certain point when i put iot back on, so the timing is right.
i got a book here that explains it all, but havent read it enough.

lol, ok it did get faced but that was last time i changed the gasket which was a few weeks ago, what happened that time was i put it all back together started the car and noticed the cream sludge, so thought it was still buggered took it all about then this week put a new gasket in and put it back together. so it was never driven since the last time it was faced.

thats why this time i didnt bother.
as you can alll tell i'm little over it, its only been the run around car thats cheap on fuel. so the less i spend on it the better.

short cuts always cost more in the long run... trust me I know from experience.
flush it properly and get some k-mart coolant to fill it up.. better than water and only $4 a 5ltr bottle.

a bottle of loctite radiator cleaner should do it but if the head is cracked or warped you would be better off goingto get a new head.
there could b a small hairline crack
is there water in the oil cap? if soits either the gasket again Or th heads crack but rinces it out see if it fixs it if not its the head i had same problem with KA now i own KC im working to pu in the canberra summernats
let me know how yougo goodluck

you dont go putting sme like dish washing liquid into a radiator coz will circlate into the motor and the car will be blowing bubbles lol
my brother learnt that you dont put it in there as will ya pistons and tappets he had to a full rebuild coz of that

how were the pistons and tappets effected from putting dishwashing liquid in the radiator? and where would the bubbles be blown out of?
