hi guys

what is the spark gap on a ef fairmont 6cyl

it has factory gas

i have the plugs i went to ford to get them
they are

motorcraft w16exr-u $23.30 a set

they are gas plugs as well the guy said.

he told me just to put them straight in but i dont trust him.... does any one know the spark gap? i dont have a book.......

we have always used 1.01mm recomend between 1-1.1mm, change the plugs every 30,000km and leads avery 60,000km.

most spark plugs come pre gapped,,ie the 1.1 in the part number represents the spark gap of 1.1 mm.

I dont tend to trust pre gapped plug - it's worth double checking with the ol' feelers....

Std gap should be 1.1..

Next time give NGKs a run - fair bit cheaper than ford parts...
